I plant indoors in an unheated conservatory. If the weather is icy cold you may want to start seeds off indoors just until germination. Don&#039;t be tempted to keep the seedlings too warm as they will become to string like and probably not make good strong plants.

		<description>Thanks Andrew. - Unfortunately the Kelsaes didn&#039;t reach full size this year due to the dreaded botrytis. They still tasted pretty good and reached about 2lb&#039;s. Don&#039;t forget to grow really big you can plant as early as January! Doug</description>

		<description>Very useful well-written information, Doug.  I will be making my first attempt at Kelsae next year (well actually this year if I start them in December!) and I&#039;m also going to have a bash at silverskin pickling onions. So both ends of the scale for size.</description>
